This is an episode of the Living Proof Brew Cast.
In the intro, we discuss the beers we are drinking. I enjoyed Southern Tier’s Old Man winter ale. I was able to taste it at Gillys Craft Beer and Fine Wine, where I also picked up a six pack. John enjoyed Oskar Blues Ten Fidy. I correct my mistaken correction on producing Jim Koch’s name. John mentions the Anchor Steam Christmas Ale.
We share our thoughts on Discovery’s new show, Brew Masters, featuring Sam Calagione of Dogfish Head beer. In the third episode, Sam collaborated with Epic Beer in New Zealand. The festival where that collaboration was unveiled was Beervana. We mention the fantastic documentary, Beer Wars, by Anat Baron one more time.
We respond to some more listener feedback, from Jason.
Our main segment is our first attempt at a brewing 101 segment. Basic Brewing Radio is an excellent resource for the beginning brewer.
We also have a brewing update, covering the final grain build for my beer and some thoughts on John’s next one, a vatted stale ale he is thinking of calling Green Grass and High Tides, an homage to The Outlaws song.
